National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, Vinnytsya was established in 1921. In 1960 the instructive establishment was named after M.I.Pirogov, in 1984 he was granted the Order of Honor. Since 1994, the Vinnytsia Medical Institute has been guaranteed and authorize to the IV level of accreditation and has been allowed the status of the University. The public status of the college was gained in 2002, in the exact year it was granted the recognition of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Presently the preparation of pros is completed at 53 seats, where the capable logical instructive staff works. Among them, there are an academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, 5 academicians and 5 individuals journalists of Academies of Science, 120 specialists of science, teachers, 554 up-and-comers of science, partner educators.

For the next 3 years, VNMU will realize the multinational project, that has participants — 19 universities from different countries.
The PROJECT 530644-TEMPUS-1-2012-1-ES-TEMPUS-JPCR HUMAN Security (environment, quality of food, public health, and society) on Territories, Contaminated by Radioactive Agents will be financed by support of the European Commission for the results of the selection 2012 year. The total cost of the project is 1 410 095,22 Euro. The Grant-holder and the Coordinator of the project is the University of Cordoba, Spain.
